Christina Aguilera is a new mom.
The pop singer gave birth to her first child a boy on Saturday night,
"Christina and Jordan [Bratman] are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman. He was born on January 12th, 2008 at 10:05 p.m. weighing in at 6 pounds 2 oz. and 20.5 inches long," a rep for the singer said in a statement. "Mom is resting and doing well!"
“Today is a very joyful and special day for Jordan and I as we welcome our first son into this world,” Aguilera told fans via her Web site.She posted a special video for her song “Save Me From Myself,” in honor of her son’s arrival.
Aguilera wasn’t the only star to give birth this past weekend.
Nicole Richie also gave birth to her little girl, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, on Friday.

Britney Spears is now in an LA hospital awaiting a mental evaluation after being taken from her house by ambulance crews.
TMZ.com reports the 26-year-old singer had to be wheeled out of her Beverly Hills mansion by paramedics and taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on a "medical hold" after police found her under the influence of an "unknown substance".
the singer was designated a "special needs" patient," meaning "they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide," a hospital source tells.
"So we go stay with these patients and monitor them constantly," the source adds. "We watch them so they don't hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don't pass anything to them."
Pagesix.com reports that she has lost a tremendous amount of weight due to "mental stress and anguish" over her ongoing custody battle for her two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.Officers were called to the singer's home about 8pm (local time) after she reportedly refused to return custody of her two sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, back over to their father's bodyguard as part of court orders.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jason Lee said officers had been called to the home to deal with a "family custody dispute".
"While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms Spears under the influence of an unknown substance," Lee said.
"She is now being taken in for an evaluation to a hospital.
"There were no reported injuries to anyone involved including the children."
Lee would not confirm who made the call requesting police assistance.

Japan's Sanrio Co is planning to extend the massively successful Hello Kitty brand from girls and young women to boys and young men as well.

The cute and cuddly white cat has traditionally been a feminine fashion brand but the company is hoping to "ruggedise" the cat for a male audience.

"The cute cuddly white cat from Japan's Sanrio Co, usually seen on toys and jewellery for girls and young women, will soon don T-shirts, bags, watches and other products targeting young men," said company spokesman Kazuo Tohmatsu.

"We think Hello Kitty is accepted by young men as a design statement in fashion."

The male targeted Hello Kitty products will go on sale in Japan next month, and there are plans to extend the range to US and other Asian nations.

The lawyer representing Britney Spears in her child custody battle with her ex-husband has asked to be taken off the case. High-powered attorney Sorrell Trope filed papers today asking the court for permission to be relieved from representing Britney. He writes that the so-called "breakdown" of communication is "making further representation of her interests impossible." Sadly this is the third lawyer to quit in Britney's custody battle.“A lawyer cannot simply withdraw from a case,” he says. “We will ask the court to relieve us.” A hearing is set for Feb. 4.
That will be followed by a hearing for Spears and Kevin Federline in the custody case on Feb. 19.
Trope was Spears’s third lawyer in her ongoing battle with her ex-husband.
Her first attorney, Laura Wasser, resigned from her case in September shortly after Spears’s divorce from Federline was finalized.
